.Net Framework 3.0 Release Candidate

The .NET Framework 3.0 - Release Candidate also became available yesterday. Formerly known as WinFX, this Community Technology Preview of .NET Framework 3.0 enables you to continue experimenting with early builds of

  • Windows Presentation Foundation (formerly code named "Avalon")
  • Windows Communication Foundation (formerly code named "Indigo")
  • Windows Workflow Foundation
  • Windows CardSpace (formerly code named "Infocard")

There's also an an integrated XPS Viewer and the Microsoft XPS Document Writer (MXDW) print driver which can be used to create XPS Documents from any application.

Microsoft plans to ship .NET Framework 3.0 as part of the Windows Vista operating system. In addition, Microsoft is making these technologies available on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.
