OpenXML Community Site

The OpenXML Community site now has over 2000 community members which is over 6  times the number when the site launched on May 8th.

I am also told that the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats has now been downloaded over 10 million times!

There certainly seems to be growing momentum when I visit countries around Europe. If you're interested in seeing some of the material from the many developer workshops that have been held around the world Doug Mahugh has just posted a load of great material. Then take a look at the case studies section on the OpenXML Community site to see how OpenXML's being implemented and used in the real world already.

I also like that there's not a negative word about ODF on any of these sites. This is a community that defines itself by what it is for rather than what it is against. As I've said before - this isn't a zero sum game.
