Using XQuery to join two Excel spreadsheets

This just caught my eye - "Using XQuery to join two Excel spreadsheets? Why not?".

The author, Dr. Carlo Innocenti (aka Minollo and Program Manager of XML products at Data Direct Technologies), shows how to use XQuery FLWOR expressions to combine information from two separate OpenXML spreadsheets into a HTML report.

I downloaded and installed Data Direct's Stylus Studio (registration required), copied the sample files Minollo provides in his post to the root directory, and cut and pasted his FLOWR example into a new xquery project, then pressed run, and voila:-

It worked Smile I love this - here's a no politics, no agenda, no angle post from someone who's just showing the utility they can get from OpenXML because it's Open and XML.
