PowerTools for OpenXML

Very cool post from Eric White that introduces a new CodePlex project to create PowerTools for OpenXML. Eric's video shows the use of PowerShell 1.0 and the recently released OpenXML Format SDK 1.0 to create and manipulate OpenXML documents from the PowerShell command line using the PowerTools.

Eric creates a spreadsheet and chart from process information returned by PowerShell and he notes that "you can create spreadsheets and charts from justabout any data that you can come up with in PowerShell". He then goes on to show how PowerTools can be used to batch process existing documents.

The video is 8 minutes long, but really brings to life some of the concepts we've been taliking about during OpenXML's standardisation.
