FT: Brussels to proceed with IBM antitrust review

The FT reports:-

European regulators are to push ahead with an antitrust inquiry into IBM’s dominance of the computer mainframe market, in spite of the computer maker’s acquisition this week of the small rival whose complaint had stirred up the review.

attributing the news to "sources in Brussels" who

confirmed that the Commission would continue to investigate issues that PSI had raised. “We’re continuing to look at competition in that market,” said one official."

Having questioned their motivation based on their complete lack of interest in this topic I now realise that I owe an apology to ECIS for my flawed logic - I see now that there's no need for interoperability because there's only one option; it's not A-Z, it's just Z.
